A mosque is a place of worship for Islamic followers or believers. The followers or believers of Islam are called Muslims. The mosque is a very important place for every Muslim. Everyone thinks what the name of the first mosque is and where is it in the world.
The name of the first mosque is Quba and it is situated on the outskirts of Madina. Madina is also a holy city such as the Makkah is a holy city for Muslims. Its first name was Yathrib before the migration.
Quba mosque is the 2nd largest mosque and prestigious mosque in the city after the Prophet's Mosque. The name of Prophet’s Mosque is Al-Nabvi Mosque.
When the mosque was built?
Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) migrated from the Makkah to Madina at that time when the Allah SWT ordered to migration.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) with his companion Hazrat Abu Bakr Saddiq follow the order of Allah as Allah SWT wanted.
Muhammad (PBUH) with his companion arrived at the place of Quba. The Islamic lunar calendar or Hijri calendar was started from that day. Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) built a mosque whose name is Quba. It is situated from 3 km to the south of Madina.
It is mentioned in the Holy Quran.

The Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said:
He who purifies himself at his home and comes to Mosque Quba and offers 2 rakats (nafls) therein, will be rewarded the reward of an Umrah.

Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) made it a habit to come to Quba Mosque every Saturday, either riding his camel or on foot and offer 2 rakkts (nafls) prayers.
Most of Muslims want to visit this mosque whenever they get any chance. Umrah journey is the best chance for every Muslim to visit the Quba mosque. It was first time renovated in the reign of 3rd Caliph Uthman ibn Affan (RA). Caliph Umar bin Abudul Aziz built the mosque’s 1st minaret. The second time it was renovated in the 435 AH. In which Hazrat Abu Yali Al-Husnini constructed Mihrab of this mosque. The renovation of this mosque was continued with time.
Now the Saudi government has taken charge of the mosque by endowing the responsibility to the Ministry of Hajj Affairs which made further renovations and added structures to the original design according to ARAB NEWS.
In this mosque, there is ‘1’ praying hall for worshippers. ‘1’ portion of the mosque is only reserved for women, there are ‘7’ major entrances while there are twelve small entrances to the mosque. The total domes and minarets of this mosque are 56 and 4 at the corners of the prayer hall. The capacity of worshippers in this mosque is twenty thousand.
